மூன்றே நாளில் வழுக்கைத் தலை… அதிர்ச்சியில் கிராம மக்கள்; முடியுதிர்வுக்கு காரணம் என்ன?
மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலம் புல்தானா மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள பல கிராமங்களில் சில நபர்களுக்கு திடீரென கொத்துகொத்தாக முடி உதிர்ந்து வலுக்கை விழுந்ததால் கிராமவாசிகள் பீதியடைந்துள்ளனர்.
நீர் மாசுபாடு காரணமாக இத்தகைய பாதிப்பு ஏற்பட்டிருக்குமா என ஆராய விசாரணையில் இறங்கியுள்ள அதிகாரிகள், இதற்காக உள்ளூர் நீர் ஆதாரங்களைப் பரிசோதித்து வருகின்றனர்.
இந்த மர்மமான நோய் பாதிப்பு வெளிச்சத்துக்கு வந்ததால் சுகாதாரத்துறையினர் இதன் பரவல் குறித்து அறிந்துகொள்ள கடந்த 7ம் தேதி கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தத் தொடங்கியுள்ளனர்.
பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு சிகிச்சை அளிக்கத் தொடங்கியுள்ளதாக சுகாதாரத்துறை அதிகாரி மருத்துவர் தீபாலி பஹேக்கர் கூறியுள்ளார்.
“நோயாளிகளுக்கு இருக்கக்கூடிய நோய் அறிகுறிகள் அடிப்படையில் சிகிச்சை தொடங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தோல் நோய் நிபுணர்களின் ஆலோசனையையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டுள்ளோம்.” என்கிறார் தீபாலி.
ஆண்கள், பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் என கிட்டத்தட்ட 150 பேர் இதனால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
என்னென்ன நோய் அறிகுறிகள்?
மூன்றே நாளில் வழுக்கை விழும் அளவு முடி உதிர்வதுடன், தலையில் அரிப்பும் ஏற்படுவதாக நோய்வாய்ப்பட்டவர்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.
இந்த நோயை உள்ளூர் மக்கள் வழுக்கை வைரஸ் என அழைக்கின்றனர்.
இதுகுறித்து மாவட்ட சுகாதார அதிகாரி அமோல் கீதே ஊடகங்களிடம் கூறுகையில், “பெரும்பாலான நோயாளிகளுக்கு தலையில் ஒருவகை பூஞ்சை தொற்று ஏற்பட்டதே முடி உதிர்ந்ததற்கு காரணம். எங்களுக்கு போதுமான தரவுகள் கிடைத்ததும், தோல் நிபுணர் மற்றும் தொற்றுநோயியல் நிபுணர்களை மேல்மட்ட விசாரணைக்காக கிராமங்களுக்கு அனுப்புவோம்.
அந்த பகுதியில் உள்ள தண்ணீரில் கன உலோகங்கள் இருப்பு அதிகமாக இருக்கிறதா என்பதையும் விசாரித்து வருகிறோம். கன உலோகங்கள் அதிகமாக இருக்கும் தண்ணீரில் பூஞ்சைகள் எளிதாக பரவும். அப்படி பரவிய பூஞ்சையாலும் மக்களுக்கு முடி உதிர்வு ஏற்பட்டிருக்கலாம். நாங்கள் சில நோயாளிகளின் தோல் மாதிரியை சேமித்து அகோலா மருத்துவக் கல்லூரிக்கு அனுப்பவிருக்கிறோம்” என்று இந்தியா டுடே வலைத்தளம் கூறுகிறது.

Villagers in several villages in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district have panicked after some people suddenly lost their hair in clumps and fell out.
Officials, who have launched an investigation to find out if this could have been caused by water pollution, are testing local water sources for this.
Since this mysterious disease has come to light, the health department has started conducting a survey on the 7th to find out its spread.
Health department official Dr. Deepali Bahekar said that treatment has started for the affected people.
“Treatment has been started based on the symptoms that the patients may have. We have also considered the advice of dermatologists.” says Deepali.
Officials have said that about 150 people, including men, women and children, have been affected by this.
What are the symptoms of the disease?
The patients report that they lose hair to the point of baldness in three days and experience itching on the head.
The disease is known locally as the baldness virus.
District Health Officer Amol Geete told the media, “Most of the patients have suffered from some kind of fungal infection on their scalp. Once we have enough data, we will send dermatologists and epidemiologists to the villages for a high-level investigation.”
“We are also investigating whether the water in the area is high in heavy metals. Fungi can spread easily in water with high levels of heavy metals. The spread of such fungi could also have caused hair loss in people. We are going to save skin samples of some patients and send them to Akola Medical College,” the India Today website says.
